The Art Of Living Black Bay Area Black Artists Exhibition and Art Tour will be hosted by The Richmond Art Center for its 14th annual edition from January 26 - March 13, 2010. The yearly event was co-founded by Rae Louise Hayward and Jan Hart Schuyers in 1997. Even though they have both passed on their work and legacy are alive and well in the form of the main show at the RAC and various satellite shows held around the Bay Area during the exhibition period.
For the past three years Mills College has held a TAOLB satellite show on our Oakland campus. The goal of the exhibit is to bring awareness of African American art and artists not only to the African American community but also to other communities who reside in the rich tapestry we call the Bay Area. This exhibition allows African American artists a space in which to show, create appreciation and sell their artwork to the public at large.
Come join us for a weekend of fantastic inspirations and creations.
All are welcome!
